A meeting of variety and region.
Our potato variety Jazzy is now in commercial production on the Île de Noirmoutier in France. After undergoing the various agricultural and organoleptic tests required in order to be described as an Île de Noirmoutier variety, Jazzy is now being grown in large plots by several producers on the island, as well as in a number of smaller plots with a view to expanding our technical knowledge of the variety.
The Île de Noirmoutier is known to all lovers of quality products for its salt, its oysters, its turbot but, above all, for its new potatoes. The island’s exceptional climate, unique seaweed-based production techniques, early cropping and respect for the product from planting through to harvest make it an ideal site for Jazzy, and one where there are hardened professionals on hand to give their opinion.
A product of our variety breeding station, Jazzy is a perfect compromise between taste, cooking behaviour, presentation and production. Jazzy gives a uniform yield in terms of size and shape and produces tubers with excellent presentation. Typical in appearance due to its oblong shape and average size, the potato is ideal for steam cooking. Its firm flesh is perfect for use in salads, to rediscover all the scents and tastes of the island, but also for frying, to capture the full flavour of a new potato. It also makes an ideal accompaniment to all seafood dishes.
