Opening and variety show at C. Meijer B.V. in Rilland

The new office in Rilland was officially opened on 9 November. Parallel to the opening was the annual variety show. In the evening prior to the official opening, Jan Muijsers announced to the guests that Meijer stands for efficiency and sustainability within its own organisation. These themes are also reflected in the selection process of new varieties. “Limiting losses in the potato chain to a minimum is of great value”.

The chairman of the NAO, Kees van Arendonk, then addressed the guests. Kees van Arendonk remarked on the good position Meijer has built up in the course of its history and congratulated the company with their new office. Kees van Arendonk and Jan Muijsers raised their glasses in a toast to the new building and a fine future for C. Meijer B.V. The visitors then had a chance to visit the office premises.

As well as a tour of new premises, guests could also visit the variety show on 9 and 10 November. The show was held this year at C. Meijer B.V's breeding station in Rilland.

The new varieties and numbers in the show are the result of a selection process based on the philosophy held by Meijer. Meijer selects varieties that represent sustainability in the chain. Sustainability stands for efficiency and excellent end quality in production, with a minimum of losses. The Lady Anna variety is an outstanding example of this in practice.
