Potato Europe 2011 Kain (Tournai/ Doornik)

	On Wednesday 7 and Thursday 8 September, Meijer attended Potato Europe 2011 in Kain, Belgium. Despite the bad weather forecast, it was relatively dry – apart from a few showers! The visitors were able to take a close look at our varieties and new additions to our range in our outdoor tent.
Plenty of interest was shown in the french fry segment.   “Lady Anna” had a lot of admirers. It is a strong variety with ABCD resistance. The variety produces uniform tubers with a good length and a good dry matter distribution in the tuber. In other words a variety with excellent yields for industrial processors.
	During Potato Europe 2011 we presented our new colleague Richard Polderdijk. Richard joined the Meijer team as product manager for the industrial potato varieties.
