Demo-tech fields, Picardie
On 30th September the last two demo-tech fields were harvested in Picardie, France. One field with table potato varieties and a field with varieties for French fries and crisps.
The photos have been taken in the field with the industry varieties. On this field the tuber setting was high. Due to the higher tuber set the tubers have remained slightly smaller. The yield was nevertheless good. With the crisp varieties there are some very promising numbers. With the French fries varieties Lady Blanca, Lady Amarilla and Lady Olympia score very well.
In the photos we see Maurice Kuijlen and Christophe Ducrocq at work. During the harvesting it was cold and drizzly.
